You are standing at the Doctors’ Stele Garden, where 82 steles honoring 1,304 Vietnamese academics of the Imperial exams from 1442 to 1779 are preserved. With the support of advanced mapping projection technology, two steles at the middle of the two stele houses on both sides of Thien Quang well have become impressive display panels, showing lots of interesting information such as the number of candidates passing each exam, the exam types, the type of officials participating in a typical exam, or the benefit received by each new “doctor” – those that passed the exam. These panels will be placed within a magical setting of the Thien Quang well, which is lit with LED borders reflecting on the water surface. Rows of trees surrounding the Doctors’ Stele Garden are also glowing with the changing color lights of gentle but enchanting colors.
